Good taste, great pairings with San Miguel Lifestyle Brews

"Drinking experience that's above the ordinary"

It shouldn't work.

No way. Not in a million years. I mean, technically, it should be like pouring a bowl of maple syrup on ampalaya. It's like the galaxy malfunctioned and the human race's taste buds got hit by the glitch. I dunno, but for whatever reason, Cerveza Negra,  a dark lager, paired with white chocolate will blow. Your. Mind.

True story.

Maybe it's the bittersweet thing that works. I mean, the most popular love stories rock because they're bittersweet.  Think Romeo and Juliet. Think Before Sunrise. Think Titanic. Think ... okay you get my drift. These stories are endearing and enduring because, among other things, the characters don't end up together (well, for Before Sunrise it's not conclusive. And you can say this too for Romeo and Juliet, depending on your take on after life. They could totally be going "What Dreams May Come" for all we know).

But anyway, beer. And white chocolate. I mean, I get the contrast thing, and how we crave for different sensations. But still, this pushes it a bit far in ways that should. Not. Work.

Let me be a beer connoisseur for a bit here. I've liked Cerveza Negra  and white chocolate individually. Cerveza Negra because of its roasted malt and caramel flavors. And well, white chocolate is white chocolate. But pairing the two will change the way. You. See. The. World. Forever. (Okay, I'm gonna stop going staccato on you. Starting. Now.)

They complement each other because Cerveza Negra neutralizes the oh-so-sweet taste of white cholocate. And white chocolate's sugar and milk powder neutralizes the bitter taste of beer that some don't like.  These two are the perfect pair for lounging  at home activities like watching TV shows and movies and writing ... a blog entry. Or anytime, really, when you want some quiet downtime to hang out.

I guess there are some things that work out better when they're bittersweet. Stay away from maple ampalaya, though.
