Marlin's Beach Resort.
On our third day in Bantayan, we did some pseudo island hopping. Pseudo because we only went to Virgin Island which, according to the boatman, is the best island in the area. We weren't really impressed because the quality of sand and water was the same as that of the resort. That's how highly we thought of Marlin's Beach Resort.
After the trip to Virgin Island, we visited the Sta. Fe Beach Club to check out the Ogtong Cave. This resort is a lot bigger than Marlin's and has more amenities (there's a cave inside the resort for crying out loud!), but the beachfront is inferior.
Here are some more photos of our Bantayan trip from Au's camera:
The Virgin Island experience.
Rej's postcard-worthy artwork. Genius.
One of the halls at Sta. Fe Beach Club.
Caged birds inside the resort.
The spooky Ogtong Cave. Being in the water will bring Sphere, Anaconda, and all water-related thriller movies to mind.

It's been more than four years since my visit to Bantayan, and the minute details of the trip elude me now. But everytime Bantayan is mentioned, images of its fine white sand and its unbelievably clear blue skies still come to mind. Also, despite being a resort island (complete with bars and restaurants that serve the cheapest and yummiest seafood), it's not crowded. Yes, I fell so deeply in love with Bantayan, so much so that its proximity to Cebu City is one of the reasons I consider the latter one of the most livable cities in the country.
